Blindingly bright! When the manufacturers make the claim that this light is one of the brightest on the market, they are not misleading anyone.
After an initial 16 hour charge the Nova 3 is ready for action,the lamp used continually for 8 hours, with 2 settings of bright and very bright, it was easy to conserve battery life by choosing the lower setting, even on this setting it was more than adequate. It has a simple construction and design,but it is a top of the range lamp! which is completely waterproof and very well constructed. It uses a 3 Watt LED permanently sealed in a semi-rigid plastic body, magnetic 2-level switch, removable lens protector, external heat sink for the LED, and a wide variety of battery options. Comfortable to wear even with the battery securely attached to the headband.
