Miles of easy fishing!
The most productive areas are Vale Park, Seacombe Town Hall steps
and nearer to the Seacombe ferry.
If your not faimiliar with the area, DO NOT fish at low water as
there are channels that quickly fill up behind you and can cut you
off from the land. The area is predominantly sandstone bedrock with
outcrops of mussel beds and some small blow lug beds, Once the area
boasted many ragworm beds , but due to the construction of the groynes
which has produced a huge build up of sand, which has covered and
killed many of the mussel beds and all the ragworm beds. All baits
have a degree of success here, but black suey worm, peeler
crab & ragworm seem to get the better fish.
Although no parking is permitted anywhere on the promenade, the
local police and council 'tolerate' nightime parking so long as
the residents have no cause to complain. There is ample parking
in the roads that lead down to the promenade and Vale Park, Egremont
Ferry and Seacombe Ferry area have excellent parking areas.
You'll never know what to expect in this area, from Bass, Cod, Whiting
, Dabs, Flounder. Plaice, Rockling, Dogfish and Bull huss have all
been caught here, plus other species such as weaver
& scorpion fish
Perch Rock information is here.
