A very comfortable venue,
situated a few miles from Liverpool City Centre with good lighting
and parking facilities, the venue can be fished within yards of
your vehicle, or, take a walk over the lock bridge and walk a few
hundred yards down the promenade, where there is seating and ample
room to cast safely. Visitors should be aware that at certain times,
the sluice gates are opened further up the river and if a shockleader
is used, it will inevitably end up with grass cuttings or other
objects that have been flushed down the toilet! All baits are successful
here, but local black suey worm by far the best bait to use.
If fishing from the promenade, you can fish small
tides ( 25 foot) from low to high water 27' - 29' tides will give
you around 5 hours fishing, but anything over this, it is advised
not to fish Mariners, as the pull of the tide will make it impossible
for your weights to hold ground
This venue is currently under threat of closure,
but it is fully open to anglers at the moment, if you are asked
to leave by a security guard, you are legaly within your rights
to decline their invitation to leave and carry on fishing. If the
situation changes, the information will be posted both here and
on our forum.
